How to Get and use Greasemonkey

Greasemonkey is a Firefox add-on which works as a script manager for the collection of scripts available on the userscripts.org website. It can be used to manipulate the view and functionality of websites which has a user script. Greasemonkey only works in Firefox and not on any other web browser.

Installing Greasemonkey:

Open Firefox web browser to install the Greasemonkey add-on. Select “Tools” from the file menu and select “add-ons”.

From the add-on window select “Get Add-ons” option. This will open up a new tab with Firefox add-on website.

In search text box type “Grease monkey”. Select the Greasemonkey add-on and click “add to Firefox “option. After installation it would prompt for restart of Firefox. Now that Greasemonkey is installed we require the script files to use the add-on.

Using Greasemonkey: Visit “www.userscripts.org”. Type “google.com” in the search text box. A huge list of user scripts would appear in the results.

For this demonstration” you tube enhancer” script is considered. Click on “you tube enhancer” script and click install. You tube enhancer web page explains the added features the script can perform. Don’t forget to turn on Greasemonkey.

Enjoy the power of Greasemonkey!!!. The same old WebPages that you used to see will reappear with all the enhancements.
