How to Get a Better Settings Page in Google Chrome

Google Chrome personal settings page, including options for passwords, form autofill, browsing data, and themes.

Google Chrome has an “ugly” looking settings pop-up page, which displays all the options. If you want the one that will certainly be released on the future versions (which also has a search box, for searching for options quicker!), follow this tutorial.

Make sure you have the latest stable version of Google Chrome installed

To make sure you have the latest version installed, go to “About Google Chrome” page on the wrench icon. If you don’t have a notification to update, you’re good to go! If you do have a notification, make sure to update, or else this will not work.

Unlock the secret page

Go to about:flags, where you will see loads of options you can enable, including the new settings page feature. Scroll down until you find Tabbed Settings. Click “enable”.

Restart Google Chrome

Once you’ve restarted Google Chrome, go to the settings page or chrome://settings, and voilá! You have the nicer settings page.

If you want the old settings page, repeat steps 1 and 2, but instead of having enable, you will have disable, so click it.
