How to Turn your computer into a wifi hot spot

Ever wanted to setup a wireless Wifi hot spot but didn't want to spend a lot of money? Well just follow these easy steps and yo

1. click start

2. go to control panel

u'll be able to connect your wireless laptops to the internet in no time. (windows 7 setup)

3. Click "NetWork and Internet"

4. Click on "Network and Sharing Center"

5. Then click on " Setup a new connection or network" it should be the first tab under "Change your networking settings

6. A pop up window should have appeared showing the following options " Connect to the internet, Set up a new network, Manually connect to a wireless network, connect to a workplace, set up a dial- up connection, and Set up a wireless ad Hoc (computer- to- computer) network (you might have to scroll down if to see this option). 

7. Click on Set up a wireless ad Hoc (computer- to - computer) network

8. then press next at the bottom right of the pop up window.

9. It should show you a picture and a more detailed information about setting aup a wireless network.

10. After reading the information press next again

11. After pressing next you will be given the options "Network name:", "security type:", and " Security key:".

12. Type in your network name (this is what your wifi hot spot name will be when yours or other computers try to connect to.)

13. Set a security type either WPA2-Personal ( WPA2 is the latest implementation of WPA and provides stronger data protection and network access control. It provides WiFi users with a higher level of assurance that only authorized users can access their wireless networks.) or choose the security type WEP (WEP is designed to provide the same level of security as that of a wired LAN.)

14. After you have cossen your security type. Type in your password.

15. Then click next

16. After it sets up you will be given the option to " Turn on Internet connection sharing".

17. After clicking that option your window pop up should display the following sentence "Internet connection sharing is enabled". At the top left corner.

!8. click close and your done setting up your hot spot

Range is based on your type of computer but will usually be great for household wireless internet sharing.
