How to Use Skype for online video calls

Apr 2, 2010 09:00 PM

This video will show you how to use the program Skype for online video calls. Skype is a free program that can be used through your computer to make phone and video calls. Go to Skype and download either Mac or windows depending on your platform. It will ask you to fill out some user information, including a user name. Be sure to pick a good user name as you cannot change it later on. Some features include free Skype to Skype calls, instant messaging, free video calls, calling phones and mobiles, voicemail and forwarding to your phone when offline. In Skype itself you can change your online status, and several profile options. To add new contacts, bring down the contacts menu and select add new contact. Enter a name in the window that pops up and select find. Choose the corresponding contact from the list and select add contact. Skype is even more customizable in the options window. Select the tools tab and go to options. It will bring up a window that lets you customize privacy, how your calls are made and received and notifications. Skype helps you stay connected with the people that you need to be. Another feature is that it is available in many different languages. Overall a very useful tool for keeping phone costs down.
